The articles indexed are available on the CD-ROM itself or, for the earlier years, on the Business NewsBank microfiche in Microforms Service.

Indexes the non-business sections of the U.S. newspapers covered so it will pick up on local economic issues and articles on important community members, including businessmen, that often appear in those sections of the paper. Previous years are covered by NewsBank Reference Service Index (1977-1995) with full text on microfiche and CD NewsBank Comprehensive (1993-1995) with full text online located on the same MARS workstation.

This is an excellent source of company information listed by company name in the corporate news section and of economic, industry, product, and business trend information listed alphabetically by subject in the general news section. The indexing is to the Final Eastern Edition of the WSJ only, which is the edition kept on microfilm. Indexing and full text access to all editions of the WSJ is only available through a fee-based online service. Beginning in 1981, Barron's is also indexed in the annual cumulative index volumes.
