Not all companies will be included in one of the following corporate history compilations. When this happens, the best alternative is to look for a periodical article which provides a company overview. Some examples of how to do this with the most popular business indexes (see under
"Business Periodical Indexes and Abstracts") are: for

Provides descriptions of corporate development for nearly 2,000 companies having a minimum of US$2 billion in annual sales (US$500 million for service companies) or which are leading influences in their industry or geographic area. This includes public companies, state-owned companies, and wholly owned subsidiaries. The entries are listed alphabetically within industry and usually include the company logo. A cumulative index to companies and persons at the back of the latest volume leads to the appropriate volume and page.
