HG 4001 .53x HAYDEN REFERENCE (located on Table 9B) & HAYDEN REFERENCE MARS
This service covering research reports written by investment firm analysts and economists has ceased but is still useful for historical research. It included information on specific companies, industries, and special reports on the state of the economy and potential investments as well as periodicals and newsletters published by these investment firms. The index is located in Reference, and microfiche copies of the reports are in Microforms (Microcard 4x6 HG 4001 .532x). It is preferable to search the CD-ROM version of the index because it includes abstracts for the reports and allows retrieval by key words in the title or abstract so it is not limited to the company name/industry indexing of the paper version. Use General Business File (see under "Business Periodical Indexes and Abstracts") for current investment analyst reports.

It is divided into three parts, with the bulk of the data appearing in the 13 sections of Part Three called "Ratings and Reports." These reports consist of 1-page analyses of each company arranged by industry and packed with data on the company's financial position, including: 18-year financial statistics, 5-year quarterly sales, EPS, dividends paid, financial strength, price stability, earnings predictability, Beta, safety and timeliness rating, brief description of the business, new developments, outlook, and stock price charts. Updated, industry-by-industry, on a rotating basis, each company report is revised twice a year. Then Part One is the index (front of main binder) which leads you to the correct pages in all sections. And lastly, Part Two (in separate binders on the same table) called "Selection and Opinion" is a weekly newsletter supplementing the semi-annual reports.
