Collections and Scholarly Communications Office (CSC)

Review Area

The Collections and Scholarly Communications Office, in cooperation with Acquisitions/Bibliographic Records, maintains a review area for new books in the CSC Office, Hayden C25. The review area is open 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Every Monday, from 2:30–4:30, new approval, firm-order, blanket-order, and standing-order books are placed on review for the academic community to peruse.

The status "Under consideration for Hayden Stacks" or "Under consideration for Science Stacks," in the ASU Libraries Catalog, may indicate that a book is currently on review. Books on review can not be taken from the CSC Office, but interested parties may request that a book be held for them once it is ready for circulation. Regular visits to the Review Area can provide a good understanding of academic publishing trends, and the direction of collection development in the ASU libraries.
