Personal Web Sites

How do I setup my account?

In order to setup your ASU account with access to personal webspace, all you need to do is add "Personal Webpage Hosting" to your list of ASU computing services using the ASURITE Subscription Web Site. To do this login at http://www.asu.edu/asurite using your ASURITE ID and password, and add the "Personal Webpage Hosting" service to your account. Once you have your space, you may edit and maintain your pages from ANY internet enabled computer by using the techniques described under Managing Web Pages.

Are there any restrictions to the type of site that I can make?

Most importantly, you must make sure that your site is in compliance with ASU's computing policies (http://asu.edu/it/policies/). Beyond that there are technology restrictions placed on public personal web space. This service does not provide support for web scripting and programming languages like PHP, Perl, CGI, J2EE, or .NET technologies.
