University Common Computing Software List

A wide array of software is available to current ASU students, faculty, and staff. Please note:

  • Use your ASURITE UserID & password to log on when prompted
  • Some areas require additional subscriptions through http://asu.edu/selfsub

Software Locations

Through the Web:

  • Online Applications: a wide selection of applications are accessible through the web. Access requirements include installation of Java or the Citrix web client.
  • Downloads (http://asu.edu/asusoftware): select software is made available for download. The software available for download is dependent on your student, faculty, or staff role.
  • UNIX Clusters: (general.asu.edu, research.asu.edu & stats.asu.edu) offer a selection of UNIX applications. Access requirements include installation of SSH Secure Shell.
On Campus:
  • Common Computing Software List: a comprehensive suite of Windows and Macintosh software including assistive technologies is available in common computing sites and classrooms across all campuses.
  • Site License Software: select software is site-licensed for the university, the software available for download is dependent on your student, faculty, or staff role.

For Purchase:

  • ASU Computer Store: ASU Bookstore offers a variety of discounted software to students, faculty and staff for purchase. Offerings include Windows; Macintosh; and select student licensing for Adobe and Microsoft products.
  • E-academy: e-academy offers a selection of software at significant discounts to the ASU community. The Selection includes, Microsoft Office for Windows and Mac, Minitab, SAS, LISREL, and several other Microsoft applications.

For Instructors:

  • Specific instructional software needs not met by any of the above options are handled on a case-by-case basis. ASU staff will work with you to help make the necessary courseware available. Use the software request form or email address below to contact us for more information.
