Joseph Miller leads the Learning and Performance Solutions Group. His major roles include overseeing all programs, business operations, strategic planning, technology-based services, and entrepreneurial activities.

The Learning and Performance Solutions Group’s purpose is to develop the competencies and effectiveness of ASU employees, to support the Office of Human Resources consulting platform and its clients with services relating to consulting, facilitation, training, and organizational development. The group delivers strategic professional development programs in leadership, continuous improvement, team effectiveness, new employee orientation, employee recognition, and technology, as well as high-quality learning management services.

Joseph has worked in the training and professional development industry for twelve years, including eleven in ASU's Human Resources Department. He has an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU, a B.A. in Spanish from ASU, and has completed other graduate coursework in Educational Technology, Distance Learning, Global Technology and Development, and Research Statistics. He also has a Six Sigma Black Belt from the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering at ASU.

Linda coordinates and facilitates programs that span the work life of employees at ASU. She welcomes and orients new employees to ASU each week at New Employee Orientation. Linda provides professional development opportunities that enhance employee performance, such as "DiSC - Understanding Behavioral Styles" and "Communicating to Increase Understanding."

Linda promotes the recognition and celebration of employee contributions and commitment throughout the year as she coordinates ASU's Employee Recognition Program, which consists of seven award programs and celebrations. She facilitates a Writers' Briefing in December for employees who are applying for the President's Medal for Social Embeddedness and the President's Award for Innovation.

Linda's passion for clear, effective communication makes her a valuable contributing member of the Human Resources Transformation Project Communications Team.

Previously, Linda coordinated the Amazing Administrative Assistance seminar and the Performance Management Leadership Seminar, and she facilitated Stepping into Leadership, "WHOOSH, Get Your Flyer off the Ground," and the "Work Skills and Values" session of the Discovery! series.

Linda received a Bachelor's degree from Azusa Pacific University and a Master's degree in English from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. Prior to coming to ASU, she taught English composition and literature at Cal Poly, Pomona, and Albion College.

Amelia Huggins holds the position of Administrative Assistant within the Learning and Performance Solutions Group. As the primary front-line customer service provider, she works with numerous departments to market over 900 training classes serving over 7,000 employees annually.

Coordinating training room schedules, processing registration for employees, and assisting with new employee orientation are among a long list of her responsibilities. Amelia acts as a liaison with training instructors and contact persons, creates and posts new training classes online, and monitors and updates the learning management system database and servers.

Amelia has worked in a marketing and client relations capacity for nearly ten years and uses her customer service and organizational skills to support her department and the collective good of the institution. Amelia is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business.

Charles works on a part-time basis coordinating the technology training program, which provides ASU employees with instructor-led and online computing and technical classes to enhance employee performance.

Charles joined the Learning and Performance Solutions Group in April 2007. He is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Arts in Communication Studies offered at ASU's West Campus. Prior to coming to ASU, he served in a variety of roles at Hangzhou Dianzi University (China), including roles such as Researcher, Assistant Professor of English as a Foreign Language, Deputy Director of Teaching and Research, and Foreign Teachers’ Liaison.

Jeff Franco is a Student Assistant in the Learning and Performance Solutions Group (LPSG). He assists in general training, learning management services, new employee orientation, the employee recognition program and leadership development. He also provides general office assistance.

Jeff is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Mathematics at ASU. He plans to attend graduate school to complete a PhD in Economics and then pursue a career in academia or in business. Jeff previously worked as a Student Assistant at the School of Computing and Informatics at ASU’s Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. He joined LPSG in April 2008.
