Office of Human Resources - Training/Professional Development

LINAU

The Leadership in the New American University (LINAU) suite of development programs provides an opportunity for ASU leaders to capitalize on their leadership strengths and build upon their leadership competencies. The Office of Human Resources recognizes the value of developing all leaders at all levels in the university. The current program offerings and the development of future programs will provide participants with valuable resources and tools to become more knowledgeable, effective and engaging leaders for their teams.

A program for New Supervisors is currently offered, and the training group is developing a program for Mid-level Leaders that will further build the skills necessary to lead university functions and teams. Please bookmark this page and check back for updates on the development of future programs.

The LINAU: New Supervisor Development Program is a five-day training series for new leaders. It is open to all leaders, but is designed for and targeted to supervisors, managers, directors and executives who are fairly new to their supervisory role at ASU (three years or less). This training promises to:

  • Strive to provide leaders with the tools and skills necessary to hire and form an effective work  team, to manage the team to optimal performance and to maintain a positive work culture.
  • Build leaders’ knowledge base in the critical areas of legal and ethical compliance.
  • Provide opportunities for participants to gain insight into their own personal leadership styles.

NOTE: There is a minimal fee per participant for this training series.
