Performance Management ensures ASU employees (non-faculty) and their leaders are:

  • serving our students in ways consistent with university expectations;
  • having periodic and candid conversations about  employees’ contributions in the workplace;
  • working together to set departmental and individual goals that link back to the President’s vision for the New American University; and
  • working together to create developmental opportunities for every employee.

THE PROGRAM

The ASU Performance Management Program includes:

  1. Policies (SPP 309-01 and 309-02) that outline program requirements and the responsibilities of staff and management
  2. An informational guide (.ppt) that reviews the program components, benefits and related forms:

  3. Performance Evaluation Templates for Staff and Management
  4. Performance Development Plan Template
  5. Performance Improvement Template to be used where there are performance gaps
  6. Process Guide: Entering Performance Ratings (.pdf)

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Units will be encouraged to use the University-wide template to evaluate performance, but may develop their own format as long as all required elements are present in the form.
