Temporary Employment Staffing - Internal Temporary Hire Process

  1. Access the Human Resources - Temporary Employment Request Form (Internal) available on the web on HR Forms page.
  2. Complete the form and e-mail it back as an attachment to Human Resources - Staffing Services at: HRStaffingServices@asu.edu University Services Building, mail code: 5612 or fax number 480.965.4756 for review and referral of resumes for temporary workers available through staffing services. A Staffing Specialist will contact the department with resumes for their review.
  3. The department will review the resumes and set-up interviews. When a selection has been made, the department will proceed with Emergency Hire paperwork.
    • Per SPP 201-01: Recruitment/Employment: An emergency hire may fill a vacant classified position for no more than 120 calendar days. This period will allow a hiring unit time to conduct recruitment to fill the position permanently or meet the need for a temporary replacement.
      That request must include the following and be faxed or mailed to your Staffing Specialist:
    • A completed "Emergency Hire" form
    • Candidate's résumé
    • The Hiring Process Report (HPR)
  4. Staffing Services will review the candidate's résumé to determine that the candidate meets minimum qualifications and then will contact the hiring unit within 24 hours of receipt.
  5. The department should contact the assigned Staffing Specialist at 480.965.8844 with any questions or comments.
