Academic Professionals (employee classification) with complete benefits and retirement package.
Employment contract executed Jan 1, 2008, or later (includes new and renewals)
Postdoctoral Scholar (employee classification) with complete health, life, and disability coverage,
but limited vacation and retirement benefits:
VACATION HOURS
With a fiscal appointment, accrue 10 vacation days in the first contract year and 15 days in subsequent years.
Unused accrued hours may not be carried over from one calendar year to the next nor are they paid out at separation.
With an academic appointment, do not accrue vacation.
RETIREMENT
Are not eligible to participate in a mandatory retirement plan – Arizona State Retirement System Plan (ASRS)
or Optional Retirement Plan (ORP).
Are eligible to participate in the Voluntary 403(b) Plan
(formerly Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan) and 457 Plan.
