Human Resources - Compensation/Classification

Service Professional Classification Program

The Service Professional employment category was initially developed by Human Resources in 1997. A Service Professional is defined as "a nonclassified employee with a direct role in service who requires intellectual freedom." Arizona State University utilizes a classification system to administer salaries and job descriptions for Service Professional positions throughout the three campuses. There are some common Service Professional job descriptions available. Your Human Resources Generalist or West HR is available to assist you with the creation of a new service professional position or a revision to an existing service professional position.

Additional information regarding the Service Professional employment category can be found in SPP 320: Conditions of Service Professional Service at ASU.
