Pre-Retirement Seminars and Meetings Information

Suggested Timeline for Retiring Employees

Arizona State Retirement System Participants

• 2-5 years prior to retirement:
  Attend an "ASRS Know Your Benefits" meetings held at ASRS
• 1 year prior to retirement:
  Retirement between January 2008 - June 2008, attend an "ASRS Getting Ready to Retire" meetings held at ASRS or
  Retirement between July 2008 - December 2008, attend an "ASRS Getting Ready to Retire" meetings held at ASRS
• 3 months prior to retirement:
  Contact Social Security to apply for Medicare, if applicable
• 30 days prior to retirement:
  Attend an ASU Retirement Meeting conducted by a Benefits Representative to discuss benefit options and to complete any necessary paperwork. Call 480.965.2701 to schedule a date. Benefit Office Retirement Meetings held at ASU
