University Housing at ASU has improved the housing process

Students will no longer have to complete an application for on-campus housing. When a student is admitted to the university, he/she can conveniently go online and easily confirm or modify their pre-selected housing and dining preferences in the system, or indicate that they will be residing at home in the primary residence of their parents or guardians and commute to ASU.
In addition to living at home with parents or legal guardians, students who are married, older than 21, have dependents or familial responsibilities, or have compelling financial or medical circumstances will not be expected to live on campus. While we know living on campus provides a very important success support network to students, we also recognize that some individual circumstances do not allow for it.

Why is living on campus a good idea?

Research shows that students who live on campus their first year experience greater academic success. They tend to transition more easily to university life, be retained at higher rates than students who live off-campus, graduate faster, be more involved in co-curricular activities and be more connected to the university community.
ASU has expected and encouraged first-time freshmen to live on campus for the past several years and is pleased that ASU housing can now accommodate all first-time freshmen.

Can I use financial aid for housing and dining?

Yes. Financial aid can be used to offset housing and dining costs. ASU encourages all students to submit a FAFSA application to determine eligibility for other sources of aid. You can find information on applying for aid here.
