Matt Omasta is a theatre scholar & teaching artist with an eclectic background in the performing arts, specializing in theatre for young audiences and educational drama. He has worked with students from the elementary through undergraduate levels in various areas of the theatre including drama pedagogy, acting, playwriting, puppetry and dramatic theory / analysis. As a doctoral candidate in Theatre for Youth, his primary research interests include corporate theatre for young audiences and drama pedagogy across the curriculum. His work has been presented at events of the International Drama Educators Association, the American Alliance for Theatre & Education, the Comparative Drama Conference, and a number of regional conferences. Before arriving at ASU, he earned his M.A. in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston and an undergraduate degree in Drama from Ithaca College. His professional experience includes work with Walt Disney Entertainment and Florida Studio Theatre.
