Assignment: Students view a short segment of the movie The Natural and Recreate the scene in writing. Students are required to use dialogue and figurative language in their writing. Once the students have finished their scenes, the class reads the actual excerpt from Bernard Malamud's novel, The Natural. Discussion focuses on Malamud's use of dialogue and figurative language.
