Presentation Description:
This lesson focuses on writing skills and uses a graphic organizer to help students think about the events in a story. The teacher shares his/her own story of a haircut. The writing process is modeled using the graphic organizer. The lesson centers around an event that has happened to everyone: a haircut. If the student has not had a haircut, perhaps they have a special way their hair is braided or styled. Students have three (3) to four (4) writing sessions to write their narrative. The students can do peer editing. The students can also illustrate their haircut.
