Presentation Description:
Purpose: From a personal narrative develop a thesis that is debatable and researchable. With the same type of experience in mind, there are two steps to the narrative, a younger and then older experience. A group analysis explores the issue and then you develop the thesis.Activities: Write two short stories of a personal discovery that provides a basis for research. There should be two phases. Examples could include a new form of music (Is rap music?), sport (baseball is the best sport), or the use of alcohol (I learned from drinking . . .). Read Romano, Lamott, and Nelson for ideas on developing multigenre. Read examples of gambling. Group work discussing stories, developing issues. Develop and post thesis.
