Since the achievement awards primarily recognize excellence and professional accomplishment, a nominee is judged by:
- 50% significant achievement in his or her professional field.
- 25% contributions to Arizona State University and/or the ASU Alumni Association.
- 25% contributions to the national or local community.
All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for the award:
- A list of accomplishments, achievements, volunteer involvements and work history.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation.
In order to qualify, a nominee must have last attended ASU within 15 years before the date the award is presented.

- Knowledge of field.
- Presentation of subject matter.
- Ability to motivate students and stimulate interest in nominee’s field.
- Ability to engage students in classroom participation.
- Student evaluations.
- Evidence of mentoring students.
- Participation in professional organizations, including offices held.
All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for the award:
- A minimum of two (2) maximum of six (6) letters of recommendation including one from students, faculty, and alumni.
- A vita/résumé of the nominee.
- Service as a full-time ASU faculty member for at least five (5) years.
- Excellence in research and/or creative activity.
- Impact of the nominee’s research and/or creativity.
- Benefits of the nominee’s work to students.
- Usefulness of the nominee’s work.
- Accessibility of nominee to students.
- Publication record.
- Participation in professional organizations, including offices held.

- A minimum/maximum of two (2) to six (6) letters of recommendation including letters from students, faculty, and alumni.
- A vita/résumé of the nominee.

- Service as a full-time ASU faculty member for at least five (5) years.
- Service to Arizona State University and/or the community.
- Beneficial service to students.
- Useful service to others.
- Significant contribution.
- Participation in professional organizations, including any offices held

- A minimum/maximum of two (2) to six (6) letters of recommendation including letters from students, faculty, and alumni.
- A vita/résumé of the nominee.
- Any person, who has been an ASU staff member, classified, service professional, administrative, or academic professional for at least five (5) years.
