Tests

Each applicant should check with their school/district to learn more about his/her gifted exam results.  Qualification at the 97th percentile or higher in any one core academic area tested and taken at any grade level will be accepted for eligibility.  A list of exams approved by the State of Arizona can be found at the link provided below.

www.ade.az.gov/asd/gifted/

*Tests that measure academic achievement (such as AIMS, NAEP Test, Stanford Achievement Test (SAT9 or SAT10) or Terra Nova) rather than intelligence or cognitive abilities will not be accepted for eligibility into the program.

Contact bss@asu.edu for more information on available gifted test dates and locations that will be offered to BSS applicants for a small fee.  Test score results must be submitted with complete application. Click here to learn how you can sign-up for the BSS listserv in order to receive email updates on dates the tests will be offered.
