Selection Criteria
For Students and Parents
Gifted students from Arizona schools who meet all of the following requirements are eligible to apply:
• Enrollment in the 7th, 8th or 9th grades during the 2007-2008 school year
• Test score in the 97th percentile or above on a state board approved test for the identification of gifted students in Arizona

Applicants must be postmarked by Monday, March 3, 2008. Applications will be evaluated based on academic record, teacher recommendation, and personal statement
For Arizona Schools
The BSS program is currently working with many Arizona schools and districts to help identify high achieving students. If your school did not receive a copy of the application packet, please contact us at bss@asu.edu so that we may send your school a hard copy of the application packet and supplemental material.
Application
The summer program is intended for mature and motivated gifted students who are interested in an opportunity to enhance their academic skills. Applications for the 2008 Barrett Summer Scholars program are available at the link below.
