Marvin Fisher Book Award The Marvin Fisher Book Award is given biannually to an international student enrolled in a graduate program in the Department of English. The Fall award goes to an M.Tesl or MA student and the Spring award goes to a Ph.D. student. The award is $250.00 and is to be used for the purchase of books needed by the applicant. Criteria: Recipient must be an international student currently enrolled in the Department of English. Recipient must have at least a 3.00 GPA. Application: Submit a letter of application accompanied by a biographical sketch of no more than 250 words, substantiating academic needs and including a suggested list of books. Include one letter of recommendation from a professor who can comment on the student's work and the list of books. Use a cover sheet that includes the student's name, name of award, address, phone number, ASU ID number, and name of the professor writing the letter of recommendation. Submit application packets to Sheila Luna (for the Awards Committee) in the English Department. Deadlines: October 15 for the Spring Award and March 15 for the fall award
