Welcome to the Department
of English at Arizona State University. Ours is a large and diverse
unit of faculty committed to excellence in teaching, to new and
exciting research, and to ongoing community outreach. With graduate
and undergraduate instruction in English Education, Literature,
Linguistics and TESOL, Rhetoric and Composition, and Creative Writing,
our faculty and students engage in cross-disciplinary work that
bridges and challenges. As we witness the excitement of Arizona
State University evolving as a "New American University" under
the leadership of President Michael Crow, the English department
students, faculty and staff embrace this moment of change and possibility.
