ECURE 2006 Registration and Program Information Available

January 2006

ECURE 2006 will feature presentations focusing on preservation and access issues for electronic medical research and clinical records, and sessions addressing the challenges of digital asset management and institutional repository development. Don Lindberg, Director of the National Library of Medicine will offer the keynote address and Clifford Lynch, Executive Director of the Coalition for Networked Information will present the closing plenary session.

The ECURE 2006 program will feature presentations on the use of the EAD/XML standard to manage access to archival medical records in accordance with federal HIPAA regulations; development of software for medical research data sharing and laboratory notebook management; preliminary results of a national survey of college and university electronic records programs and the status of related best practices development and implementation; construction of a trusted digital repository at the University of North Carolina; and a conversation about implementation of digital image metadata standards and relationships between existing and emerging standards in public and private organizations.

ECURE 2006: Preservation and Access for Digital College and University Resources will be held February 27 - March 1, 2006 at the beautiful Tempe campus of Arizona State University, located in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Conference registration information and a program schedule template is now available. Program information will be expanded as new sessions are confirmed.
