How Do I Read The On-Line Schedule?

Reading the on-line schedule of classes is easy once you know the basics.  Follow the steps below to find your classes:

  • Select "Class Schedules" from the Registration Information page on the Registrar's web site.
  • Select either "Open Classes" or "All Classes" (we recommend using open classes after pre-registration as this is updated every ten minutes).
  • Select semester and location
  • Follow on-screen directions to find specific courses.
  • General Registration information is available in PDF format by selecting the appropriate semester in the box labeled "Schedule Information For".

The scheduling information is somewhat self-explanatory.  The key things to be aware of are:

  • Schedule Line Number.  This five-digit number identifies the course and is the number entered for all registration transactions.
    • Some courses may not have Schedule Line Numbers listed.  Registration in these classes is restricted.  Contact the specific department for additional information and registration instructions.
  • The campus identifier and course number, e.g. M ENG 101.  The "M" indicates the course is being taught on main campus, and "ENG 102" indicates the course number.
    • "E" is used for East campus, "W" is used for West campus.
  • Footnotes--descriptions of each code can be accessed by following the "footnote"  link.  This will give you specific information about the course you've selected.
  • Course Description--follow this link to read a brief description of the course in question.
  • Seats Available--this tells you how many seats are still available in each class, and how big each class is.  For example, "10 of 100" tells you that there is still room for 10 more students in a class with a capacity of 100.
  • Use the listed days, times and locations to build you schedule.
