No, you have to be cleared for
Registration by your advisor. However, your advisor will expect
that you've considered your options before your initial meeting.
Before that meeting occurs you will need:
- A list of courses that interest
you
- An idea of how many courses you
want to take
- An idea of when you want to take
these classes
- An open mind
In a perfect world, you'd get the
classes and schedule exactly as you want them. Your advisor will
offer suggestions and have ideas for you, but they will also expect
that you've done your part.
Finally, ASU is a large University,
and you will likely encounter something unexpected. However,
preparedness on your part will minimize these difficulties and make
your first-semester registration simpler.
