Counseling:
Coming to college and living on your own is probably one of the
first times you experience culture shock and anomie. Are there
places and services that can assist you in dealing with the
feelings and anxieties and stressors you have placed in front of
yourself (by choosing to come to college)? No institution can
MAKE you less stressed, only you have that power. But knowing
what you need to do and knowing how to do it are entirely
separate issues. Planning for the future can also cause stress.
Do you know what gives you meaning in this life? Is the prospect
of answering, “where do you want to be in five years”
daunting? Talking with someone can help you with long-term
goals, as well as dealing with immediate, short-term problems.
Whether it is the stress of having to do laundry the first time,
dealing with the existential quandary of “who am I?” or
