Bicycling is a very popular method of transportation at Arizona State University - over 15,000 people bicycle to campus each day. Not only is bicycling a reliable, timely and convenient way to get around Tempe and ASU, but it is good exercise and great for the environment! Bicycle lanes and paths can be found throughout Tempe and the ASU campus, as well as numerous bike racks for you to secure your bicycle. For a copy of the latest Metro area or City of Tempe bike map, call (480) 965-1072 or e-mail the Travel Reduction Program including your name, address, and phone number. Also, Bike-on-Bus makes it possible to use the bus system and bring your bike along.
With the convenience and flexibility a bike provides, it is highly recommended that you license your bicycle to protect it. Remember... lock your bike through the frame and both wheels to secure it when it is unattended.
First, contact any of the following merchants who participate in the bicycle licensing program:

Second, you will need to schedule an appointment or simply bring the bike in.
Third, pay the two dollar fee ($2) and have the license affixed to the bicycle frame.
A copy of your application, with detailed information about your bicycle, will be sent to the City of Tempe Police Department.
Why Should I Do This?
It is much easier to return a lost or stolen bicycle if the owner and serial number are easily identifiable.
