What
is the Student Graduation
Progress table?
The Student Graduation Progress
table contains information
indicating the student's
progress toward graduation.
It will show if a student
has filed a program of study
or override, or the student
has applied or reapplied
for graduation. This table
does not indicate if a student
has graduated. See the Degree
table for graduated students.
As a student progresses
in their curriculum, this
table will contain one record
each semester indicating
the last progress toward
graduation. See example
data below:
This student first filed
for an override in 19891.
The next semester (19893),
they filed a program of
study. They did not apply
for graduation until 19913
but for each semester they
were enrolled, a record
was created showing the
last progress code. This
does not show if they graduated.
What
is the key (unique identifier
for a row) for the table?
Semester and Affiliate ID
are the table key. There
will be only one record
per student per semester.
What
is the timing of the table?
The table is loaded weekly
from the SIS through the
end of the semester with
the most recent progress
toward graduation data.
Why
would you use it?
Use this table to find students
who have or have not filed
Programs of Study or who
have or have not applied
for graduation.
Why
would you not want to use
it?
Don't use it to find graduated
students. The G code from
the SIS is not loaded in
this table. All the graduated
students are loaded in the
Degree table.
What
should you watch out for?
The Graduation Progress
Status Code for a particular
student would typically
start as O (override) or
P (program filed). When
the student applies or reapplies
for graduation (Graduation
Progress Status Codes of
A and R) the P will be changed
to A. So to get all students
who have filed programs
of study, you want P's,
A's and R's. Also you cannot
tell exactly what degree
major the record goes with
if a student is pursing
multiple programs.
