TABLE: COURSE OVERRIDE NEEDED
WUG December 1994

What is the Course Override Needed table?
The Course Override Needed table contains information about courses a student has attempted to register, but was not able to get into because of a course edit, time conflict, or a section is full. The record will contain the number of times a student failed to get into the course, up to a maximum of 999 times. A student may have only one of these records per semester per campus-course.

What is the key (unique identifier for a row) for Course Override Needed?
Affiliate ID, semester, campus, course id, and type of override needed is the key for the table.

What is the timing of the table?
An entry is made into the Course Override Needed Table any time a student attempts to register for a course, but fails either because of a course edit, time conflict, or a section is full. The information for a semester will not be updated once the last processing day for that semester has passed.

Why would you use it?
To see if students are trying many times to get into a course.

To verify that s student tried to register for a class but couldn't.

To study the unmet demand for the courses you offer.

What should you watch out for?
The Mandatory Advising System was created in 1991 so data prior to this time does not exist.
