TABLE: ADVISEMENT NOTE

WUG December 1994

What is the Advisement Note table?
The Advisement Note table contains notes that can be added by anyone with access to MACS. Notes are also added by the online curriculum change screen if a student changes colleges during a semester.

What is the key (unique identifier for a row) for Advisement Note?
Affiliate ID, semester, and the note number is the key for the table.

What is the timing of the table?
An entry is made into the Advisement Note table by the advisor either in preparation for an advising session or when an advising session has already occurred. Notes are also added if a student changes colleges during a semester. The information for a semester will not be updated once the last processing day for that semester has passed.

Why would you use it?
Some colleges have specific notes or keywords they use in their notes. These special messages could be tracked for all students in a particular college or advising category.

Audit who is using the notes function and what types of messages are being saved.

What should you watch out for?
The Mandatory Advising System was created in 1991 so data prior to this time does not exist.
