Mission
Data Administration is responsible
for developing policies, standards, definitions, and
conventions governing the creation and use of enterprise
administrative data. Enterprise administrative data
are data needed by the university for reporting, management
analysis, and essential operating activities.
Specifically, this office:

Identifies enterprise
data required to support the information needs of
ASU's management in collaboration with other offices.

Coordinates with
other offices to ensure that administrative systems
contain mission-critical administrative data.

Recommends, to senior
executives and designated committees responsible
for data management, policies controlling access
to and management of data. (These policies ensure
the security, privacy, and appropriate use of administrative
data.)

Establishes definitions,
standards, and naming conventions for enterprise
administrative data. These conventions ensure the
integrity, accuracy, and internal consistency of
administrative data.)

Prepares and disseminates
reference sources containing pertinent policies,
definitions, and other information necessary to
use administrative data.

Identifies official
data for entry into the data warehouse and maintains
the data warehouse. (Official data are the accepted
reference points for management and analysis purposes.)
