ASU CSW/SC 2014 Professional Development Conference

WEBCAST Options: Thursday, October 2, 2014

For the first time ever, the CSW/SC Professional Development Conference will feature webcasts of a variety of workshop sessions. The workshop sessions will take place live in Tempe on October 2nd, and will be available via webcast for those that would like to view the session remotely from their computer.

Participants attending the conference sessions via webcast will be provided with access instructions and workshop materials in advance of the workshop session.

Registration is required for webcast sessions. To register click on the corresponding link for each workshop session.

Per SPP 601, supervisors and employees are encouraged to work together to identify reasonable work modifications to allow the employee to attend conference workshops, without negatively impacting service.

ASU's New Compensation System and You: Understanding the New System

On June 9th, 2014, ASU replaced its previous compensation system with a new, more flexible, performance-based approach commonly known as broadbanding.  This workshop will focus on sharing the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the new compensation framework and the advantages it brings to ASU.  "Broadbanding" allows more flexibility and gives leaders the ability to reward staff for their development, performance and outcomes. The framework also will align ASU pay more closely with relevant labor markets. Finally, the framework is intended to promote consistent pay practices over time.

This interactive workshop will provide tools for how to manage the daily stressors of our lives.  Dr. Aaron Krasnow will focus on useful, proven, and easy to learn techniques to lessen the impact of stress, improve our relationships, and be more effective at work.  At the end of the workshop participants will take with them strategies to apply at work and home, and will have gained the knowledge necessary to teach the ideas to others.
