Course Description and Objectives

This course will introduce students to strategies, formats, and techniques of presenting information to business and other workplace audiences.

On completion of this course, students will be able to:

Course Requirements

This course will be conducted as a hybrid. Beginning the week of January 24th Tuesday class sessions will meet on campus; Thursday classes will be conducted in Blackboard. However, the last 2 weeks of class will be dedicated to student presentations. You must be present in class on both Tuesdays and Thursdays for presentations. See the schedule for detail on exact dates.

All assignments are to be completed and turned in by the due date listed in the Schedule section of Blackboard. Late assignments will not be accepted for any reason other than family or medical emergency. If you cannot complete an assignment on time, contact me in advance of the due date.

Class participation grades includes attendance, participation in class discussions and activities during Tuesday classes, and Thursday Blackboard posts/activities.

Throughout this course, you will be composing documents for a variety of audiences and purposes. Your writing should at all times be professional and consist of proper tone, style, formatting, language, and grammar.
