Fourteen "On-line" quizzes will be given, roughly one every week

The quizzes are meant to help you learn the material and generally require much more work than the points are worth! The quizzes are a learning tool rather than a testing tool. Work on the quizzes with other students, if it helps you to learn! If you just copy the answers from someone else I'm afraid that you will pay for it come exam time.

Each quiz will consist of 12 questions, and each question will be worth half of a point. Each quiz will thus be scored out of a maximum of 6 points, with half points being rounded UP. The quizzes contain some EASIER questions, the idea is to increase the learning experience by encouraging you to try more of the questions on your own rather than just getting help.

The deadline for quizzes will be 11:59PM most Sundays, EXCEPT before each midterm, when the deadline will be Saturday. The purpose of this is not to spoil your weekend, but so that the quiz answer key can be posted before the Monday midterm as a study aid. Remember, you cannot make up any quiz, but the lowest FOUR scores will be dropped. If you are ill, have to be out of town, have computer problems an hour before the deadline (DON'T wait until the last minute!), fall asleep, forget etc., this is what the dropped quizzes are for, don't ask me to accept a quiz after the deadline for ANY reason, thank you!

The quizzes are provided on a web page and as a Word file for you to print. You enter your answers on a different quiz submission page. You will not see the questions again on the Submit Quiz page. You can submit the quiz as many times as you like BEFORE the deadline, only the LAST submission will be graded. To submit your quiz you will need to know your POSTING ID NUMBER.

Online/hybrid students must register that they have watched the appropriate lectures before they can submit the quizzes, more...
