Finding Yourself on this Web Site : Your Posting ID University Rules do not allow the use of ASU ID's or Affiliate Numbers for identification in class. In this course you are identified on my roster by a seven digit "Posting ID" number. This is given by the last 4 digits of your Affiliate ID number, followed by the last three digits of your ASU ID number. For example, if your affiliate ID number is 1000991111 and your ASU ID number is 99999222, your posting ID number is 1111222. You can find your affiliate ID Number on your ASU Sun Card, or by logging in to the ASU Web Service. Some classes may use a hyphen (i.e. 1111-222), but in this class we will use the straight number (i.e. 1111222). Please make sure that you enter your Posting ID number correctly when submitting the on-line quizzes especially. If the number you enter isn't a correct Posting ID number, or isn't on my roster, you will receive ZERO points for that quiz!

PDF Files In order to be able to make the chemical structure files accessible to people with different computer systems, we sometimes have to use the .PDF file format. This means that your web browser has to be configured with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can configure your computer by going to the Acrobat Reader download page. Click HERE to see if you can open and see a test file. When the file opens you should see the following: If you have difficulty reading or printing any of the files, please contact me as soon as possible and I will help you. It is really important that you have easy access to the files on this web site.

Page Won't Load If some part of the web page does not seem to load correctly, first check that you can indeed load .pdf files, either from another site or by clicking on the test link above. If you can, then the problem is almost certainly the ASU server being erratic! If this happens, keep hitting "Reload" or "Refresh" until it works. You may have to wait an hour or so. This is nobody's fault, it is just the way that the web works sometimes. It is also possible that I just screwed something up. If you think this may be the case, let me know, thanks.

Printing Spectra If you are having trouble printing spectra, check the "print as image" box in your print menu. All of the spectra print properly on a black/white printer such as a laser.
