Fourteen "On-line" quizzes will be given, one every week. The quizzes are meant to help you learn the material and generally require much more work than the points are worth! I see them as a learning tool rather than a testing tool. By all means work on them with other students if you like, if it helps you to learn! If you just copy the answers from someone else I'm afraid that you will pay for it come exam time.
With the exception of Quiz #1, all quizzes must be submitted by 11:59PM each Saturday of the semester. The purpose of this is not to spoil your weekend, but so that when appropriate, the quiz answer key can be posted on the Sunday before each Monday midterm as a study aid. Remember, you cannot make up any quiz, but the lowest FOUR scores will be dropped. If you are ill, have to be out of town, have computer problems an hour before the deadline (DON'T wait until the last minute!), fall asleep, forget etc. this is what the dropped quizzes are for, don't ask me to accept a quiz after the deadline for ANY reason, thank you! The quizzes are given as a web page for you to print and work on. You can then come back later and enter your answers on a different quiz submission page. You will not see the questions again on the Submit Quiz page, you will just enter answer A, B, C or D to Question 1, then A, B, C or D to Question 2 etc. You will be able to submit the quiz as many times as you like BEFORE the deadline. Only the LAST quiz submission will be graded. TO SUCCESSFULLY SUBMIT YOUR QUIZ YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW YOUR CORRECT POSTING ID NUMBER. Your seven digit Posting ID number is given by the last 4 digits of your 10-digit Affiliate ID number, followed by the last three digits of your 9-digit ASU (or Campus) ID number. For example, if your affiliate ID number is 1000991111 and your ASU ID number is 99390222, your posting ID number is 1111222. You can find your affiliate ID Number on your ASU Sun Card. Note that some classes use a hyphen, e.g. 1111-222, but in this class we use the straight number, 1111222. Newer Suncards do not have the 9-digit ASU ID on them, only the Affiliate ID. If yours is one of these, go to "My ASU" and look for the "General" heading under "My Accounts", and click on the "Demographic" link. There you will find your 9-digit ASU or Campus ID number. |
