With classes as large as on-sequence General Organic Chemistry, I can ONLY see students during scheduled office hours (see above), otherwise my entire week will be full of student appointments, and I will not be able to get any other work done! If you come to see me this semester outside of office hours, I am afraid I will have tell you that I am too busy to see you at that moment and ask you to come back during office hours. I understand that no matter what office hours I choose, there will always be some students who are unable to attend because of schedule conflicts. Therefore, in addition to regular daytime hours, I will have hours on Tuesday evening, 6:00 - 7:00 PM, and Saturday afternoon, 2:00 - 3:00 PM. Nobody should have classes on both of these times! If the building doors are locked on Saturday, try the door that is in the center of the building on the West side, i.e. adjacent to Palm Walk, it is usually open. If ALL of the doors are locked, call me and I will let you into the building. I am willing to sacrifice my evening and weekend time for you, you should do the same for me. If your outside work conflicts with all of my office hours including the Thursday evening and Saturday morning ones, then you need to get some time off to come and see me. Remember, I want to help you, but we must also help each other. Under exceptional circumstances, I will see you outside of the times shown at the top of this page by appointment, but ask that you have a good reason. |
