Mission Statement
Counseling
and Consultation (C&C) at Arizona State University is a unit in the Division
of Student Affairs that works in collaboration with the broader university community
to support the academic mission of the university by engaging in activities
that facilitate the student learning experience, student success in persistence
and graduation, and efficiency and effectiveness of student services. C&C
in its delivery of high quality psychological services, actively works to model
and to promote:
- the valuing of human
differences on individual, organizational, and community levels, and
- the facilitation of human
potential.
Counseling
& Consultation Goals Counseling and Consultation
at Arizona State University has identified four major goals for the work of
this administrative unit.
1.
To facilitate student development through the implementation of direct and
indirect psychological and psychiatric services, including assessment, counseling,
crisis response, consultation, outreach, and program evaluation, which are
effective and appropriate to the missions of the University and the Division
of Student Affairs.
2.
To provide effective training for graduate students in psychology and closely
related fields.
3.
To enhance and promote the valuing of diversity through actions that reflect
an understanding of and respect for differences and similarities.
4.
To intentionally contribute to staff development in support of high quality
service delivery and to the development of the field through staff professional
activities.
