Academic Programs

ASU’s academic programs in nonproft studies are one of the most comprehensive in the region and across the country. Starting with the Nonproft Leadership Alliance certifcate program (formerly the American Humanics program) and the bachelor’s degree in Nonproft Leadership and Management (NLM) , there are nearly 200 students in these undergraduate programs. At the graduate level of instruction, the Master of Nonproft Studies (MNpS) and graduate certifcate programs (Nonproft Leadership and Management, Social Entrepreneurship and Community Development) have nearly 90 total students enrolled on a full-time basis. Lastly, several students are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree with a specialization in nonproft studies. In 2011–2012, the ASU Lodestar Center and the ASU School of Community Resources & Development celebrated 28 new graduates from the Master of Nonproft Studies (MNpS) program, four new recipients of the Graduate Certifcate in Nonproft Leadership and Management (NLM) program and 31 graduates from the undergraduate NLM degree program. These new graduates are entering theworkforce ready and prepared to impact the community as a cohort of trained and prepared nonproft professionals.
