HOW TO APPLY

Application Procedures:

Applications are accepted throughout the year. To apply the following information should be compiled:

 
  1. Apply for admission to the Graduate College as a CERTIFICATE student (Degree / Certificate Seeking Student). You can apply online (click here to go to online application). Under admissions on Degree/Certificate Section Search: Category – ALL; Campus – DOWNTOWN; Keyword – Nonprofit Choose Nonprofit Leadership and Management (Grad Certificate). You will be required to pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee, as of May 1, 2009. You must provide proof of Measles Immunization. No transcripts or GRE tests are required.

    In the online application process, you will be required to submit a written professional statement describing your purpose in pursuing the Certificate and your nonprofit experience.

    In addition, a current resume will be required outlining your previous professional and volunteer activities.

    The online application will require three letters of recommendation from current or former employers, current or former faculty members, or others who are familiar with your scholarly and professional abilities and characteristics. You will need the name, email address, title and organization from whom you will be requesting recommendations.

    Lastly, official transcripts must be submitted to the Graduate College. You will receive a response from the Graduate College that will include an ID number, which is used to register for classes.

  2. Register and pay for your classes. This can be done online or in person and your admission packet will have all the information you need or visit the Registrar’s website for instructions.

Applications can be submitted any time prior to the first day of classes but be aware that you can't register for classes until your application is processed. Allow enough processing time. You will receive notification that you have been admitted.
