Do I have to apply to the Certificate to take classes?
No, you can begin taking classes at any time and then if you decide to apply for
the certificate you can do that at a later date.
How do I register for a class if I am not a student at ASU?
If you are not currently enrolled or completing a Master’s Degree
at Arizona State University -
Apply for admission to the Graduate College as a CERTIFICATE student. You can apply online (click here to go to online application).

Under admissions on Degree/Certificate Section Search: Category – ALL; Campus – DOWNTOWN; Keyword – (Leave Blank). Choose Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management. You will be required to pay a $65 nonrefundable application fee, as of July 1, 2007. You must provide proof of Measles
Immunization. No transcripts or GRE tests are required.
- You will receive an admission packet from the Graduate College
that will include an ID number, which is used to register for
classes.
- Register and pay for your classes. This can be done over the
phone and your admission packet will have all the information
you need or visit the Registrar’s website for instructions.
Please Note:
Applications to the graduate college can be submitted any time prior
to the first day of classes but be aware that you can't register
for classes until your application is processed. Allow enough processing
time, generally one business day for web applications and two business
days for paper applications, to avoid the late registration fee.
You will receive notification that you have been admitted.
What does it mean to apply as a non-degree student?
Nondegree students can take up to 15 credits per semester, but only
9 credits can be transferred into a degree program.
How much does it cost?
During the 2006-2007 academic year, a 3 credit graduate class will
cost Arizona residents around $930 and non-residents $2,064,
plus fees.
When are classes offered?
Nonprofit and Leadership & Management (NLM) classes are offered
every fall and spring, see the schedule of classes for details.
Most classes are offered during the evening on either the Tempe
or Downtown Campus.
