The ASU Center for Nonprofit Leadership & Management hosted the Annual Nonprofit Conference on December 8-9, 2005 . The event marked record attendance for the Center's Annual Conference and featured a wealth of knowledge and information for attendees.
Building Boards: Strengthening Communities began with three Pre-Conference Sessions on Board Governance, Risk Management and Fundraising. Patricia Lewis, Sr. Professional in Residence, presented a Pre-Conference Session to launch the Center's Effective & Motivated Board Governance Training. Attendees also enjoyed Kay Sprinkel Grace's presentation on the Board's Role in Fundraising.
Deborah Hechinger, President & CEO of BoardSource marked the beginning of the conference with her presentation on Moving from Compliance to Effectiveness: Nonprofit Boards That Make a Difference. Jan Masaoka, Friday's keynote speaker, captivated her audience with her presentation: Tools & Practices of Effective Nonprofit Boards.
The conference featured nationally recognized and local speakers, a bookstore with over thirty titles, and exhibitors that included the Arizona Alliance for Nonprofit Organizations, Organization for Nonprofit Executives, BoardSource, and ESCOM.
