Conference History

Only two previous conferences have been held on the development of nonprofit management as a field of study in higher education. The first was in 1986 and was followed by a second, larger conference in 1996. These two conferences were organized and hosted by the University of San Francisco 's Institute for Nonprofit Organization Management. BenchMark 3, the third decennial conference, will reflect on how far the field of nonprofit and philanthropic studies has come since the first conference, describe current conditions, and consider future trajectories.
