Call for Proposals - Proposal Instructions

The Arizona State University Center for Nonprofit Leadership and Management invites proposals for presentations at its BenchMark 3: 2006 Conference on Nonprofit and Philanthropic Studies.

Steps for submitting a proposal:

  1. Read the entire Call for Proposals which is comprised of three sections: 1) the Proposal Instructions (this page), 2) Topic Categories, and 3) Description of Session Types.
  2. We suggest printing the Call for Proposals, assembling the information requested, composing the proposal in a word processing program, then copying the appropriate material into the form provided.
  3. Only online proposals will be accepted. Please do not send proposals hard copy via U.S. mail or other carrier. Please do not send proposals as email attachments.
  4. Submit your proposal at http://benchmark3.asu.edu.
    Select the proposal type, and fill in the information. Text can be copied and pasted into the large textboxes using the edit menu or keyboard shortcuts.

 
Criteria for Selection:

  1. Paper/presentation proposal topics should fall into one of the following "Topic Categories" listed in this Call for Proposals.
  2. While proposals that address historical development and/or current status of the field are invited, special attention will be given to proposals that discuss future trajectories.
  3. To add stimulating variety to the conference, proposers are encouraged to consider various presentation modalities for their session. Please see "Description of Types of Sessions" and the "Topic Categories."
  4. Proposals that are missing any required information may be rejected; please check carefully to assure that information is complete and accurate.


Proposal Submission:

  1. Complete contact information is required for the presenter of an Expert Presentation or Paper, or a key contact person for a Debate, Colloquium, or Paper Panel.
  2. Proposal submission forms vary according to the type of session and you will need to select the appropriate form to complete based on the type of session you wish to submit. Click on ‘Submit Proposal’ at the top of this page to view the various proposal submission forms and review the types of sessions.
  3. You will be required to indicate the Topic Category for your session; click on the links below to view the Topic Category descriptions.

Audio-Visual Equipment:

An overhead and screen for traditional transparencies are provided free of charge in each room in which presentations are scheduled. ALL other audio-visual equipment, other than that being brought in by the presenter, must be special-ordered and paid for by the presenter. Other equipment includes LCD projectors, flip-charts, computers, extension cords, and/or VCR players. For price quotes call:

Deadlines:

  1. Proposals are due by the close of business on September 30, 2005.
  2. Notice of acceptance/rejection will be sent on or about October 31, 2005.
  3. A post-conference publication is being planned. The deadline for completed papers (presented at BenchMark 3) is April 21, 2006.
