Developing Strategic Alliances between Nonprofits and Businesses for High Impact: Creating Sustainable Resources

March 7, 2003
Burton Barr Central Library
Phoenix, Arizona
8:30 Registration
9:00 - 1:00 Program

This was an interactive program facilitated by national Drucker Foundation trainers. It was based on the successful publication The Collaboration Challenge: How Nonprofits and Businesses Succeed Through Strategic Alliances, by James Austin of the Harvard Business School.

This program helped participants to:

  • Become more familiar with the evolving relationships between nonprofit organizations and businesses.
  • Appreciate the assets that nonprofits bring to strategic alliances with businesses.
  • Assess strategic fit and opportunities for mutual benefit in relationships with businesses.
  • Clarify key elements for successful management of strategic alliances with businesses.

"This material took us to such depth. I left with something concrete and the confidence that I could do this."
