Public Allies Arizona is an intense 10-month Apprenticeship Program designed to develop the next generation of civic leaders.

We will be seeking dedicated, service minded Allies to begin their 10-month apprenticeship in nonprofit organizations in the Phoenix area the Fall of 2008.

Qualifications:

• 18-30 years old
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• A copy of high school diploma, GED certificate, or higher education transcript
• Available to work in a full-time apprentiship; avg. 40-50 hours per week
• Willingness to be coached and mentored
• Have a passion for service and a desire to serve the community

Benefits:

• A $13,500 stipend for ten months of service
• A taxable educational award of $4,725 upon completion of the program
• AmeriCorps Health Insurance
• Child care assistance (if eligible)
• Interest free loan deferment for qualified student loans
• Eight personal days and holidays off
• Exposure to local issues and the nonprofit sector

Program Requirements:

• Complete two Team Service Projects
• Complete a minimum of 1,700 hours of service
• Serve as an AmeriCorps member
• Attend bi-weekly Friday trainings
• Attend two overnight retreats
• Attend additional conferences and events related to the service movement and volunteerism
• Participate in evaluations of the program
