Lodestar Foundation announces $250,000 Collaboration Prize

The Collaboration Prize is offering $250,000 to recognize collaborations among two or more nonprofit organizations that each would otherwise provide the same or similar programs or services and compete for clients, financial resources and staff. The nomination process opens June 1, 2008, and closes at 5 p.m. EDT on July 21, 2008. Visit www.thecollaborationprize.org for details. Make a career out of making a difference. Through signature AmeriCorps programming, talented young adults are identified from diverse and under-represented backgrounds who have a passion to make a difference, and assisted in turning that passion into a viable career path.

The 10-month program consists of working full-time for a nonprofit organization addressing critical community issues, and developing your own leadership skills through bi-weekly trainings delivered by community leaders and ASU faculty.

Job Brokers, Inc. Launches Search for Local Nonprofit Partner to Support

Job Brokers, Inc., a locally owned and operated employee recruiting firm, is searching for the perfect nonprofit partner to support through donations, fundraising and volunteerism. Job Brokers will donate an automatic $5,000 to their new nonprofit partner, and will work closely with the organization to help support its mission for a period of one year.

Nonprofits can apply to become the recipients of Job Brokers' involvement by printing an application form at www.jobbrokersinc.com, or requesting one via e-mail at pveatch@jobbrokersinc.com. The deadline to submit an application is June 30, 2008. By mid-July, Job Brokers will invite three finalist organizations to present to, and meet with, the Job Brokers team. 2008 Youth Voice Request for Proposals

Every Voice in Action is conducting a grant round focused on emerging Youth Voice Programs - particularly Youth Activism, Youth Media and Youth as Resources. Applicants will be able to request up to $10,000 through this grant round. The RFP is currently posted, in downloadable form, on the Every Voice Foundation's Web site, http://www.everyvoicefoundation.org. The Grant making section of the Web site also has details about funding priorities, eligibility requirements, and Pre-Proposal Information Session dates. The focus of this grant round is on emerging (new and/or small) Youth Voice efforts, but will also consider funding new Youth Voice components of well-established programs.

Proposals are due by noon, Thursday, June 12, 2008.

Arizona Endowment Building Institute Recruits for Third Nonprofit Class

The Arizona Endowment Building Institute (AEBI) has faced the challenges and found success in helping local charitable organizations build their endowments to ensure their futures. Interested organizations are encouraged to apply by Jun. 20 to Director Carrie Kinnear, 5150 North 16th Street, Suite B141, Phoenix, Arizona 85016. 

To be eligible, charities must have been in operation for 10 years and have a minimum annual budget of $1 million with at least a five-year history of fundraising generating a minimum of $250,000 annually. Additional selection criteria are listed on the AEBI Web site, http://www.azebi.org. 

Treasures 4 Teachers announces the appointment of Sue Diaz as Chairperson for the Board of Directors
Sue will guide the Board of Directors in meeting and achieving the Mission of Treasures 4 Teachers which is "To ensure that children and classrooms across Arizona have the tools for learning by transferring the community's surplus supplies and materials into the hands of educators and children, regardless of economic status."

  Operations Administrator - Habitat for Humanity, Valley of the Sun ReStore

Description: The primary responsibility of the Administrator is the coordination of donated goods for the retail arm of Habitat for Humanity. Coordination of donations includes but is not limited to: responding to incoming donation calls, scheduling the pick-up of donations, communicating the donation schedule to the drivers, tracking the result of the donation to ensure excellent customer service and processing all related paperwork. This position will also serve as backup for all front end store activity.
