R.E.S.C.U.E. stands for Reducing Euthanasia at Shelters through Commitment and Underlying Education. R.E.S.C.U.E. at ASU is dedicated to reducing cat and dog euthanasia in Arizona and raising money to support animals rescued by Arizona R.E.S.C.U.E. Some of our regular events include a Sponsorship Drive which goes directly toward saving animals through our affiliate Arizona R.E.S.C.U.E. We also do various other events to raise funds to both help the animals and club expenses. We also do awareness campaigns to fulfill our vision...

Some of our regular events include Sponsorship Drives where money raised goes directly toward sponsoring animals waiting for a home with Arizona R.E.S.C.U.E. and Awareness Weeks where we not only fundraise but also spread awareness about euthanasia, spaying/neutering, and adoption. Other events such as food sales and fundraiser dinners at Sweet Tomatoes raise money to support the R.E.S.C.U.E. cats and dogs. Another great past event held was hosting Arizona R.E.S.C.U.E. founder Julie Seal as a guest speaker to talk to students about the sad misfortune of many of the pound’s animals. Interacting directly with the animals is one of the greatest rewards of this club. Throughout the year, we will get together and take a group of R.E.S.C.U.E. dogs to a local dog park to play and give them a break from their kennels.

R.E.S.C.U.E. at ASU recognizes that we students are the next generation going out and adopting pets and having an impact. We want to make sure everyone on campus is educated about the responsibilities of having a pet and about euthanasia. We are trying to create a cultural change within our generation on how animals are acquired and the commitment of people to their pets in order to eliminate the problem of euthanasia.
