Thanksgiving Adopt-a-Family helps family from New Orleans |
|
|
This year's Thanksgiving Adopt-a-Family
community service event helped a family who were rescued from the flooding in
New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. The Porea-Taylor family came to
Phoenix after the grandmother of the family was rescued and taken to the shelter
set up inside the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum. One member of the
family, Shamcrice Taylor (not in picture to the right), is now a student at
North High School. The club cooked the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, and collared greens on Wednesday, November 23. To the right is a picture taken on Thanksgiving Day during the delivery of the food. From left to right: Derrick Porea, his mother Diana, and PUD members Katie Curiel and Michael Fleming. |

Check out the PUD Fall Retreat! |
|
| On the weekend of October 15 and 16, you can escape the city, take part in some leadership activities and maybe learn some yoga positions. You're probably wondering "where can I do this?" At the 2005 Phoenix Union Devils Fall Retreat! PUD will be heading up north to a cabin north of Payson, AZ for a weekend of fun. We leave the morning of October 15, spend that night in the cabin, and return on Sunday. The cost for the whole weekend is $15 and there's 3 ways to reserve your spot: emailing PUD at phoenixuniondevils@hotmail.com, signing up at the PUHSD/ASU Partnership Office at the Multicultural Student Center, or by signing up at our October 5 General Meeting. We hope to see you there! |
